Watermelon with star cut outs

Festive Food For the 4th of July

Festive food is often the highlight of any event. Our creative neighbors hosted a July 4th barbecue and scored rave reviews with their guests. It was a bonus to merely walk across the street to attend this fun party! Upon arrival, I began noting the fine details. The patriotic decorations and artistic food drew me right in. The watermelon centerpiece was spectacular. Generous blueberry servings on star tipped wands sparked anticipation. Gaily wrapped tableware added colorful flare. Steak and burgers on the grill filled the neighborhood with charcoal goodness. Laughter and meeting of the guests ensued.  The party was in full swing!

Red, white and blue tableware wrapped in stars & stripes ribbon set the tone for the 4th of July barbecue. The extra effort makes a lasting impression!

The peach pie was super creative and delicious! Homemade ice cream was the perfect topping and is traditional comfort food for the Fourth of July.

After a delicious meal and a few yard games, it was time to sink into the Adirondack chairs and watch the fireworks show, launched a few blocks away. Our host played patriotic music for an added touch. It was a beautiful evening for friendly conversation and fellowship, which is the best part of gathering together!

Adding a few festive foods to your Fourth, will make lasting memories for your guests.

An All-American Pie recipe for your 4th of July celebration is found on this post from last summer.

Great ideas! We are having two outdoor parties this Summer, a few weeks after Independence Day, but I always love a red/white/blue theme! The watermelon is so cool; I’ll have to remember this.

Hi Autumn! Yes, we are blessed! I wish I would be tech savvy enough to have Stars and Stripes Forever playing in the background of this post. You’ll just have to imagine it.
